Meet The Konjac Root
Konjac is a starchy root vegetable native to East Asia, traditionally grown in the mountainous regions of Japan, Korea, and China. For centuries, it’s been used in Japanese wellness rituals and cuisine, prized for its gentle, skin-loving fibre known as glucomannan.
To create our konjac sponges, the root is first harvested, dried, and finely ground into a soft flour. This flour is mixed with water and carefully heated to form a jelly-like paste. It’s then poured into moulds, steamed, and naturally dried to create a firm, bouncy sponge — ready to cleanse, exfoliate, and compost with ease.

If you choose, you can sanitise and refresh your sponge weekly.
- Place it in hot water and boil for a few minutes.
- Remove from the water and allow it cool before gently squeezing out excess water.
- Hang to dry in a sunny, well-ventilated spot.
